Interventional Radiology

Overview

Interventional Radiology  refers to a range of techniques which rely on the use of radiological image guidance such as X-ray fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT or MRI to precisely target therapy. IR treatments are usually minimally invasive alternatives to open and laparoscopic surgery. As many IR procedures start with passing a needle through the skin to the target it is sometimes called pinhole surgery.
